 I am a medium, I have a rare gift known as the independent direct voice. I do not speak in trance, I need no trumpets or other paraphernalia. The voices of the dead speak directly to their friends or relatives and are located in a space a little above my head and slightly to one side of me.They are objective voices which my sitters can record on their own tape recorders to play later in the privacy of their own homes. Sometimes those who speak from beyond the grave achieve only a whisper, hoarse and strain, at other times they speak clearly and fluently in voices recognizably their own during life.

I do my work by sitting wide awake in total darkness with other people. I know I have learnt more about life and people and human problems and emotions by sitting in the dark than I could possibly have learnt in any other way, and those who have taught me the most are people who, dead to this world, are living in the next.

What is Independent Direct Voice?

The process is activated directly by Spirit communicators, and voices can be almost identical to people's voices before making transition to the Spirit World.

Depending on the strength the energy, Spirit may be able to build an ectoplasmic voice box in mid air. Voices are then heard by all present. This is different from Spirit speaking through the larynx of an entranced medium.

Who İs Leslie Flint  ?

In his heyday, which was before the war and some 25 years after it, Leslie Flint was one of Britain's best-known Spiritualists. He possessed the rare distinction of being a direct voice medium. Flint used no trumpets or paraphernalia. Though sitting in total darkness, he did his work wide awake, not in a trance. Those who flocked to him could engage, if conditions were propitious, in fluent colloquial conversation with others, kith and kin, strangers and well known, all of them "passed over", who manifested themselves in space, voice only, around Flint's solid if unseen presence - "a little above my head and to one side of me".

The mood was not at all solemn, still less frightening. Leslie Flint took his inexplicable gifts sensibly and objectively, sometimes lightheartedly. Especially when conversing with his "familiar",

Leslie Flint kendi varlığının orada olduğu hissedilmesin diye elinden geldiği kadar  konuşan ölüyle  buradaki tanıdıklarını karşışlıklı  birbirlerine muhatap gibi bırakır ve soruların onların sormasını isterdi. Kendisi iyice  silinirdi.

Bilhassa ailesi ile konuşanlar çok rahat bir konuşma yapıyorlardı.

Hello everybody.

This is Mrs. Greene speaking. Mr. Woods and I thought it advisable that, before you heard any of these tapes, we gave you an introductory talk because, although there may be some of you who know about and have experienced some type of psychic phenomena, there will be a number of you who have no knowledge whatsoever about this subject, especially about direct voice, which is the finest and most natural form of spirit communication.

As in all séances, there is a medium, but in direct voice the mediumship is physical and not mental. Clairvoyance, clairaudience, hearing of spirit voices (but only by a medium), impressions, inspirational writing and drawing, all come under the heading of mental mediumship. Direct voice, transfiguration (when spirit will overshadow the medium and his face will change), spirit photography, materialisation and telekinesis, the latter being the movement of inanimate objects without physical contact come under the heading of physical mediumship. In direct voice it is very important to remember that the spirit voice is not coming through the medium’s lips; in other words they are not speaking through the medium, but completely independently, about three feet away. In everybody there is a substance known as ectoplasm, which is a life force. Although the direct voice medium has certain strong powers, to enable the spirit voices to be heard, it has to be a combination of the sitters and the medium, because ectoplasm has to be drawn from the sitters, as they provide the negative element which must be coupled to the positive element drawn from the medium, in order that an etheric voice box, or mask as it is sometimes called, may be constructed, through which the spirit communicators can communicate their thoughts. The voice box, automatically transmitting those thoughts as sound, will reach the sitters as the voice, therefore the sitters are very important. Some sitters may actually feel the power being drawn from them, and at the end of a sitting may feel rather depleted. This may be especially so in the case of a single sitter. If you were to take an infra-red photograph during a. direct voice séance, you would see cords of ectoplasm emanating from the medium and the sitters and joining up to form what looks like a ball of mist, or the voice box which, we understand, is a replica of the vocal organs, and whilst the spirit communicators are using this voice box, they have lowered their vibrations to reach the earth vibration. This explains why the spirit voice may not sound quite like the earth voice - it may be a little distorted. It is rather like when we telephone somebody - often we say we did not recognise so-and-so’s voice. Their voice is being transmitted artificially by means of an instrument which at times can distort it. Therefore how very complicated our spirit friends must find it when they have to reproduce their voice by thought, and also through an artificially created voice box. They cannot be expected to reproduce their own voice exactly, though unfortunately some sitters do expect it. Also, if a spirit has been on the other side for a number of years, they forget what their earth voice sounded like, that is, if they ever did know what it sounded like, as in the spirit world they communicate with each other by thought. I ask those of you listening to this - if you had never heard your own voice on a tape recorder, what it sounds like to other people, could you, by thought, reproduce your voice exactly?

Some direct voice mediums go into trance, but this particular medium does not do so, and is conscious the whole time. He often laughs or makes comments when we do. Also, when you listen to the tapes you may hear the spirit communicators breathing rather heavily as they try to get through. This is often the condition in which they were just before they passed from their earth life into the spirit world, and you may also hear them taking breaths between sentences. Now, this business of breathing has puzzled some people a great deal, and it is a question that is often put to us. First of all, you must remember that our friends on the other aide are people, just as much as we are on this side. They are spirits and we are spirits here and now, but on a lower vibration. The difference is this - when our Spirit friends are in their own environment, communication between each other is by thought, and when they make use of the voice box to communicate with us their vibrations have automatically been lowered to the earth’s conditions, such as breathing and taking breaths between sentences. Perhaps we can explain this a little more clearly. One often carries on a lecture or a conversation with someone in one’s life. Now, without realizing it we are mentally taking breaths between sentences, and when we are able to use our normal vocal organs and speak our thoughts aloud, our breathing becomes apparent to others. That is exactly what is going on with our spirit friends - they are communicating with us by thought, and when those thoughts are lowered to the earth’s vibrations and we can hear them as sound, their breathing becomes apparent to us. The same idea applies to accents. A spirit communicator who had an accent whilst on earth - say for example, a Scots accent - when they vibrate back to earth conditions, this accent may be apparent because their memory has been drawn back to those conditions. A spirit who, when on earth stuttered, has been known to stutter whilst communicating by direct voice. It is the same with people of different countries. They will come through speaking in their own language.

Most physical mediums have a young person attached to them, who helps to raise the vibrations and, in the case of direct voice, assists the spirit communicators in getting through. This particular medium has a young boy attached to him who, when on earth, was a paper boy and was killed in a road accident. He is usually the first one to come through, giving us a cheery word of greeting, often calling us ‘Woody’ and ‘Auntie Greeney’ , but more often than not he will call us by our christian names. At the end of the sitting he always pop back to say goodbye.

The medium is very well known. He has been through every scientific test, and the genuineness of his mediumship, and his integrity have been proved beyond all doubt. It is a mistaken idea of a great many people that when they attend a direct voice séance, or any type of séance for that matter, they expect to receive good results and that somebody will come through. Of course, this may not be so, and the sitter will be very disappointed and perhaps very unhappy, but they have been banking on a certain person coming through to talk to them. The majority of people do not understand that to obtain good results from a direct voice séance, or any séance, the conditions must be right. The condition of the medium and the sitters, both physically and mentally, their attitude of mind, and there must be harmony between the sitters and the medium and, above all, it is actually the attitude of mind of the medium and the sitters that can promote good or bad results in a séance, especially in direct voice. The way they think, not only during the actual séance, but all through their life, and their way of life and their attitude towards their fellow beings and all life. It is the attitude of mind of the medium and the sitters that can affect the quality of the voice box that has to be built up and in turn will attract a spirit communicator of a like plane of spiritual development, because like attracts like. Not only must there be harmony between the medium and the sitters from a friendly point of view, but there must be harmony between them spiritually and, if this is not so, then a barrier is created through which our spirit friends of a higher order are unable to penetrate their thoughts. Unfortunately, this barrier is often created by the sitters and the medium but, of course, quite unconsciously. It is really essential that before a direct voice séance, or any type of séance, one should try to keep the mind free from any influences of a disturbing nature, especially rows, because the vibrational element of any kind of disturbing influence can be unwittingly introduced into the séance room and upset the vibrations there, perhaps with a devastating effect, and those adverse vibrations could affect somebody else’s sitting.
 

Mr. Woods is himself a medium. He has the gift of clairvoyance and clairaudience, and his mediumship is unique in that a spirit will talk to him and tell him to write down what they say, which Mr. Woods will do, hearing that spirit clairaudiently as plainly as if they were actually in the room. On other occasions. Mr. Woods has been given a vision, but that vision will be a reality to him because he is actually a participant in that vision. He can feel things, touch the ground, touch and smell the flowers, put his hand in the water etc., and write a description at the same time whilst he is experiencing it. More often than not on these occasions there is a spirit with him who will answer Mr. Woods questions and explain about the universal laws and how they affect all life. All this Mr. Woods will write down. It is as if he has one foot on the earth plane and one foot in the spirit world. He is completely oblivious of what is going on around him until the spirit who is with him thinks he has had enough and will depart, and Mr. Woods will return to earthly conditions. Over 25 years ago Mr. Woods was told by direct voice that he was to be used in this way. He has also had a great deal of experience in the field of psychic phenomena. In fact, for over forty years he has made a study of it and has even had the experience of walking round the room with a materialised spirit at a materialisation séance.

He has, however, always been interested in direct voice, but it was not until he met the Reverend Drayton Thomas, who had already tape-recording examples of direct voice, that Mr. Woods decided to obtain a tape-recorder himself. Before the Reverend Drayton Thomas passed over, he expressed the hope that Mr. Woods would carry on his work. He has since come through to us in direct voice and expressed his delight that Mr. Woods has continued with the tape recordings.

I have always been interested in psychic phenomena, but it was not until the year 1953 that I was really introduced to the subject, and then it was by Mr. Woods. Between the years 1953 and 1956, at the request of Mr. Woods, I sat with him at several direct voice séances, and it was at one of these séances that a spirit communicator came through to us, (I believe that it was Mrs. Patrick Campbell) and said that if the two of us would sit regularly with the medium... if we would sit without any personal motives or wishing to get any of our relatives through, they, on the other side, would try and bring through people from all walks of life to tell us how they passed over, what they experienced, their reactions on finding themselves on the other side, and their life and work in the spirit world. During 1956 and 1957, Ellen Terry came through and gave us a similar message. Since the autumn of 1956 we have made every effort to sit regularly with the medium and, gradually, we have collected these tapes.

Please do not think that every time we attend a direct voice séance, we can record a new tape, because there have been times when we have had nothing at all, a blank sitting. We never know who, or if anybody at all, will come through. Spirits from all walks of life when on earth have come through to talk to us but they have all given us in their own way an interesting description of themselves, their reactions on finding themselves in the spirit world, and their new life, but however humble or however eloquent the spirit communicators have been, throughout all the communications we have received runs the golden thread of truth and the right way of life, but we need you to judge for yourselves.

We must apologise for any noises off that you may hear on the tapes, such as a dog barking, a car revving up or an aeroplane flying over. The microphone being such a sensitive instrument, it picks up these outside noises and we are sure you will understand that any noise outside of the séance room is quite beyond our control. These tapes of ours have no restrictions whatsoever placed upon them - they are for the world. Those lovely souls from the spirit world have not come through just for our benefit, but to give a message to the world, and they are relying on us to pass that message on through the medium of the tapes, and they are determined that people should receive them.

I wish to pay the greatest tribute to my dearest and most loyal friend, Betty Greene who has recorded this tape. She passed away on 30 August 1975. She gave up 27 years of her life working with me in research, proving survival, that all life lives beyond the grave, and helping me to spread these good tidings throughout the world. Never at any time did she think of herself, but worked over those years in forwarding this glorious truth, without a break or time for a holiday; she gave up her whole life, year after year, day by day, in hard work for others, up to the time she was called home to a new life, where she will still carry on serving humanity until the day comes when I shall also be called home to join her in this great work together. When I sat beside her bed in the hospital... she whispered to me, ‘Please carry on this work, George, for there will never be a better world until all the people in it know about a future life.'

I want to communicate with you, but I expect that you know that we on this side do not find it simple. I would describe many things which are a common occurrence naturally surrounding us, especially in your language which is very confusing and very difficult. Facts of our life, which in some ways are very much like the earth, we refer to a condition of life enjoyed chiefly by people who have only recently left your world, and therefore, people of a mentality as such that they have not shed themselves of the material and in consequence have not made much progress and they have found an environment which they themselves have become mentally tuned into, adjusted to by their earthly thoughts. But when you ask those who have been here for sometime (as you understand time) who have made spiritual progress, they live in an environment so far remote from anything you can imagine. For them it would be increasingly difficult for them to manifest and describe the condition under which they exist.

The situation is that whatever they may be able to give to you must be brought down to a level of understanding, otherwise you can only receive a very poor picture of the realities of which we are conscious, in as much that we are limited by the many conditions in which we have to communicate. With all the goodwill, all the desire to be co-operative never the less there are limitations which are set, like yourselves under the conditions in which you live. I come to advise and help you. I have lived on your plane centuries ago in China. I have been called by several names and I do not feel it would be an advantage if you were to know these names by which I was known. For a man who is wise (as you understand it) as soon as he passes through the gates called death, he realises that , that which was wisdom in the past, as you progress becomes ignorance in consequence of the wisdom gained.

Wisdom is something which is a state of being which may apply and does apply till such time as you have made progress to another state. That which was wisdom in the past becomes ignorance in consequence of wisdom gained according to ones knowledge, but that what was true yesterday still has elements of truth, is not so in the light of new knowledge. Knowledge is something which is ever changing. Movement is life. Man cannot remain stationary. Knowledge becomes ignorance through the light of new wisdom. Wisdom of yesterday is not wisdom of today because one has gained greater wisdom from experience. That is why when you come to us you have knowledge and wisdom to a point. It is only we who come to you who realise how hard it is to give you greater illumination that we would like to do. We strive to overcome complication and difficulty created oft times in ignorance.

Great teachers, great leaders, full of wisdom and the centuries of time and then gather together knowledge of ancient wisdom and they call themselves wise men. Because it is not always factual, that which applied then no longer applies now, but is fundamental truth. We that come to you know that man will only find divine truth when he himself becomes spiritually attuned into the highest spheres and the greater souls that come. Oft times at meetings we have heard it said it is very interesting for me to communicate with this and that person. Sometimes we receive illumination. But always we realise that those of your world go groping in darkness, so do not perceive as we would wish them to do.

Man cannot reach greatness in spirit, to higher wisdom until he has lifted himself above material things. You who go to these meetings, you gain here and there, knowledge of a kind. I do not despise this knowledge but you must seek the things of the spirit. Those who are themselves by nature, thought and action spiritual, the limitations are great and the difficulties are many. We cannot help to commune with higher evolved souls as you would wish, nor can we help to communicate with whom you may desire. Good souls, some not highly advanced, come to you with love and a desire to serve you and mankind, through you, but never the less they are limited as you are limited with all these conditions, conditions which are created by peoples of the earth. You must realise there is war in thought and war within themselves and against each other and it is because they have no sight, no trust, no realisation the world is run by fear.

Do you realise that in the world of spirit there are souls akin to yourselves who have not gained great enlightenment or great knowledge but who live together. It is true in a kind of world of understanding, tolerance and affection. They are not great souls in wisdom, they are not great souls in spirit, you understand, but they come to you for they are near the earth.
They are not perfect beings; they are imperfect beings in process of change. They can tell you things which will interest you. But that world is not unlike your world but the things you desire from the higher realms of spirit cannot be given until you, yourselves, have risen to that higher vibration.

I cannot attempt to describe the sphere on which I dwell for there are no words to depict these things. They can only be felt by the beings who are in tune with us. It is something within your soul which will come to you with a great realisation and a great impact that is tremendous, when you are prepared and ready for it.

Those souls who come to you and describe things which when you think on them, are like your own world. They say our world is wonderful our world is beautiful we have wonderful scenery we have our homes .. Our illumination there is beauty. .all this they say. You associate all this with goodness and loveliness. It is true, these things exist. There is a replica of your world.. The physical material world in all its beauty, all its colour without the disfigurements that man has brought about, without all the things which create havoc in the hearts of man and in his mind also. They do not, at this stage, realise all the wonderful things that are ahead for then.

There are other spheres of progress where it is impossible to depict in any shape or form such a condition of life, where they are not limited as you are limited. You cannot see these things; you cannot understand these things; you are not yet ready for these things. We are not in a world that is three dimensional. We are in a world that is four dimensional, which you could not possibly conceive or understand.. It is beyond your comprehension. I am conscious of your desire to serve and help others. One of these days you will realise that those who come to you are not so far removed from you. In other words they are souls who by their very nature are kind and considerate and who have made certain progress and they will tell you of their own condition, in their own environment, but you cannot hope to receive from the higher evolved souls. You must remember that all life is a gradual procession of stages and it is impossible for souls of certain vibrations to depict things to those on another sphere. We can send to you and receive from various souls, things which will help and are valuable but there are many things which you cannot yet perceive. Those who desire this knowledge will not find it until they, at least by their very nature and being, make it possible. However we hear people say this and that… .ask that question but they are not even ready for the elementary things.

It is extraordinary how it is that people who have not the slightest knowledge and who have not had the slightest indication of spiritual progression, that they insist that from the higher spheres, great souls should come to them, to work with them. Some say they have sat in circles and these souls came to them, souls of high origin, and made direct contact. I deny this. I say that it is an impossibility. You cannot receive from certain souls on very high spheres, a direct contact because I know there is no one in your world, who has spiritually progressed to this stage that they can tune in. It is not possible. Man can only receive that which he himself has made possible, not only by his actions but by his very way of life. You may receive and do receive messages from highly evolved souls but it is relayed to other souls on their spheres and so on until it reaches you on your vibration. These other souls act, as it where, as instruments. They transmit the message.

There are people in your world who have said that they have made direct contact with Jesus. I say that this is not true. Man must realise that he is put on to the earth world and he progresses as well to other spheres but all these different aspects of life are stages of development for gradual progress. Man must progress through stage to stage and, grasp in each one, knowledge. Knowledge is always fluctuating from condition to condition according to wisdom gained in one experience he finds in a new experience greater wisdom. All wisdom is part of the whole… .part of the complete. It is in this world, like steps on the rungs of the ladder which you climb. That child who stumbles and falters on the bottom rung is beginning, but cannot see how high and how tremendous and it takes great courage to climb gradually. Those at the top often find it hard to come down. We are conscious of the earth's needs of peoples’ desires. We realise that the majority of those who are so called spiritual are far from being spiritually minded. Oft times they are immersed in their own vanities, their own ideas, their own ideals and are not content for themselves but they want more and more.

It is something to learn, to know that a little knowledge, well understood properly, helps very much to greater knowledge. There are those who have little knowledge who are vain and say they have all knowledge. Some start to open new societies, new Religious groups and bodies and attest to the world that they can contain all that is good and the others are bad. There is no religious body or organisation in your world that can contain all truth. There are those who have a gleam of truth and they distort it with their own ideas and vanities. Even spiritual truth is often obscured by the vanities of man. He makes a great religious organisation. He amasses wealth, fortune and great buildings and possessions. He becomes, as it were, powerful over the minds of souls and binds them and creates havoc in their lives and the real truth is obscured.

I can think of many religious bodies in your world professing outwardly to be spiritual but are more material than the materialist who has no religion at all. Truth is something so tremendous that it should make a man free and make him realise that he gets part of the Divine plan. That he does not need ceremonies and the outward shows and material conditions to make him great. Man is only great when he is first humble.

The more chance is that he will become spiritually conscious in your world. Those who seek high truths must remember it can only be found when you shed yourself of all material things which bind you down mentally and physically. Many souls come to you and I have listened to their voices. They are good souls. They come with intent to help. But…remember that those who seek the highest must in themselves become like children.

I remember the words of a great teacher suffer the little children to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of heaven. That was not only the parable of children who gathered around him, but the parable of children of all ages (0 to 1,000 yrs.). All kinds of children of all colours and all races. If we become as children and come patiently with love and trust to our divine parent, we must realise we must be as children. We cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven( ? )which means you cannot enter into the wisdom, into the tremendous truths for you must have such faith and an open mind. Many who come to these meetings have not an open mind. They profess to have it. They are full of their own importance, full of their own pre-conceived ideas. Even those who preach from the platforms, who profess to be spiritually-minded are full of their own importance. Even the little knowledge that they have becomes twisted and distorted in such a way that it cannot give a true picture of things spiritual.

Remember you must give out tremendously, not only from within yourself but you must give out in such a way that you will grow and attract new souls who will open out for you and will make possible the training of that path so that those great souls you desire to come to you, can come. They will give to you the things and information that they can depending on the circumstances that prevail. For those who seek I say, remember seek and be as children and keep open wide the door that ye way enter therein and remember truth is ever changing. That what was truth yesterday won't remain truth in the light of a new truth.

We cannot tell you everything but we can make you perceive it within yourselves, within your souls, so that in time, with your co-operation and love, we will be able to do more. It will require patience on your side and on our side too.
